This is one of my favorite pieces for its simplicity and story. It is inspired by the energy you feel right before taking off in a plane: the rush of adrenaline, prop noise, tower and other objects wizzing by; the surreal feeling of exponential motion.

Canvas was primed with thickened gesso and cement, which was applied by hand and by using a broom. Various white-toned spray paints were then added along with cut-and-pasted metallic ironing paper collected from the 1950’s. Gesso, spray paint, and charcoal add detail. Stretched over white pine.
